XBRL Report Viewer
Reporting Standard announces the availability of the first standalone tool to visualize the content of an XBRL instance document with focus on buiness users rather that technical users.
The XBRL file viewer tool is a simple standalone application that allows you to review every minor detail in an XBRL instance document.
The screen capture above shows the content of a test balance sheet.
The viewer allows users the following additional functionalities:
- Multi language: The user can establish their language preferences. The tool will select the apropriate language accordingly according to user preference in order and availability of labels in the taxonomy.
- Multi company: If the XBRL report contains information for more than one company, the tool automatically split and groups the information.
- Multi view: Some XBRL reports may contain information for multiple forms. Users can choose the form they want to see. Data can be shared across several forms.
- The tool shows the numbers along with the units, precision and decimals information all together as indicated in the report.
- The tool shows data with an icon indicating if the data corresponds to begining of period, end of period, duration or an instant in time.
- The tool analyzes all contexts and prepare a logical order for them.
- The tool shows tool tips on the facts, context color, units, decimals and precision information.
- The tool allows you to see the content of fields with large amount of text.
- The tool shows the dimensional space for the fact in the instance.
