Update to version 2.6.9.

New update to version 2.6.9

New features:

XBRLIzer is now XBRLizer(+) and incorporates a many new features:

  • Contains the tools needed to create XBRL reports automatically from templates XBRL reporting. (Before only available in the XBRL Mapper)
    • XBRLizer(+) allows you to save a report as if it were an XBRL report template to facilitate the mapping to external data sources and automated generation of XBRL reports. The external data sources can be files in Excel, relational databases, CSV files, other XBRL reports, web forms, and many others available via Data Access Drivers.
    • Allows export XBRL reports as Excel spreadsheets (before only allowed in XBRL Viewer) in order to assist in the creation of templates for mapping data from Excel to XBRL.
    • XBRLizer(+) comes with a Plug-in for Excel to read the templates generated by the XBRLizer(+) to create data access maps between the elements in the template and cells in Excel (Both, mapping to Excel cells and mapping to Excel cell names are possible).
    • Access the demo available on the product page XBRLizer(+)
  • Extension of taxonomies available in the Taxonomies Catalogue
    • All taxonomies of the Netherlands (NTP Project)
    • FTA Taxonomy of the CNMV (Version published in January 2010)
    • Taxonomy of PGC 2007 Version 1.4
    • Taxonomy IFRS and UK GAAP
    • soon, IFRS 2010
    • soon, Chile SVS 2010 extension of IFRS
  • We have added a tabular representation of the XBRL Dimensions 1.0. This representation can display tables like the Table of Changes in Equity if it has been designed using dimensions in the taxonomy. Current taxonomies using this design pattern are: US-GAAP, IFRS 2010 and the SVS of Chile 2010.
  • Representation of notes in HTML format. Used by the US-GAAP and IFRS new taxonomy of 2010 among others.

Other improvements:

  • XBRLValid and API: Adding XBRL Formulas processor 1.0 to the validation engine (Version 0.6)
  • API: The support features of XML Schema 1.1 (See Note 1)
  • Improved graphical interface on all the tools
  • XBRLizer and XBRLView: Added icons for elements of type Dimension and Hypercube according to XBRL Dimensions Specification 1.0
  • Improved manager view access points allow taxonomy to display the items added as required by the taxonomy. (Use ITMM format designed by the IASB)
  • Added icons to represent local and remote files in the File Open XBRL window
  • Added an error message that XBRLizer shows when no connection to the Internet is available and DTS Discovery process has failed because one of the necessary files is not available because the computer is offline.
  • The processor now recognizes documents in iXBRL format

Note 1: The XBRL 1.0 Specification does not demand support for schema 1.1 (XBRL 2.1 taxonomies are schemas according to XML Schema 1.0), but in the process of DTS Discovery, the XBRL 1.0 specification does not incorporate the contents of the xsi: schemaLocation to the DTS. This means that it is possible that an XBRL processor has to validate the current file using XML Schema 1.1 (referenced in xsi:schemaLocation attributes) without those schemes incorporated into the DTS as taxonomies. (See the conformance suite XBRL 2.1 series of 160 test cases). Reporting Standard processor S.L. operate correctly in this scenario even with Schemas that has been created according to the XML Schema 1.1 specification.

October 2009

Update release 2.6.8.

New update to version 2.6.8 released

New features:

Updates to the taxonomy catalog:

  • LAST MINUTE CHANGE: 22/10/2009 We have just added a new taxonomy to the Taxonomy Catalog (FTA from the CNMV) The new taxonomy is not finished but is open for public comments.
  • The COREP taxonomy and taxonomies from the CNMV regulator (Solvency) has been updated in the local catalog due to undocumented changes in the official documents.
  • Installer: The new installer now permits add/remove catalog entries to the local catalog while keeping the XBRLCatalog.xml file synchronized.
  • XBRLCatalog: new function to add an entry to the catalog from the official web site

Other improvements:

  • XBRLIzer: New Stop button that stops the DTS loading process in the middle
  • XBRLIzer: Copy XBRL errors to the system clipboard in HTML format
  • XBRLIzer: Accelerated loading taxonomies that use XBRL formulas (Internal API changes).
  • XBRLIzer y Visor: XBRL Facts with dimensions may generate empty blank lines.
  • XBRLIzer: Serialization of XBRL files, consistent use of the xbrli prefix for all elements in the xbrl instance namespace.

Bugs fixed:

Visor: Menu to export to excel was gray and now it is fixed.

August 2009

Update release 2.6.7.

New update to version 2.6.7 released Continuously upgrading our tools.

New features:

Special editors for certain field types and better internationalization:

  • Dates: Now XBRLizer incorporates a new graphical user interface to choose dates.
  • Boolean fields: There is a new editor for boolean data types, use space to switch from true to false and vice versa, use (t) or (f) etc.
  • Attachments: The Spanish Securities Exchange Regulator requires sending attachments inside XBRL reports encoded as base64binaryItemType. XBRLizer supports creating reports with embedded files using base64. Just DRAG and DROP a file to the right field.

Other improvements:

  • Hide columns: Now it is possible to hide columns the user don't want to see in the XBRL report. Columns groups information from multiple XBRL contexts. If the user is not interested in information for a particular year now it is possible to entirely hide that column.
  • XBRL 2.1 Validation: This functionality is now better supported inside XBRLizer for both complex types (tuples) and simple types content (as restrictions on stringItemType).
  • XBRL 2.1 Validation Options available to users: Now you can configure your XBRL 2.1 validation engine so more warnings are recognized as required by some regulators worldwide.

Bugs fixed

Validation of some sample reports according to the IIC taxonomy was faulty due to double validation of tuple content model (Schema validation and API validation). Now the validation works as it should be and the error has been fixed.

July 2009

Update release 2.6.6.

New update to version 2.6.6 released Continuously upgrading our tools.

New features: Dynamic validation of tuple content models

Better reporting of tuple based taxonomies. Tuples are commonly used in some XBRL taxonomies worldwide.

  • SBR taxonomies have tuples that defines specific required content models. (Tax filing purposes).
  • The latest CNMV ICC taxonomy. Everything is included in nested tuples.
  • Notes in the Chile taxonomy (SVS) are also tuple based.

Bugs fixed

Entering data in string based elements was tricky due to an internal error in the latest update of the XBRL API.

Order in the presentation linkbases. A bug in retrieving the value of the order attribute was the source of an issue in properly ordering the presentation relationships.

July 2009

Update release 2.6.5.

New update to version 2.6.5 released The most supported XBRL software worldwide.

Small but important changes

Added US GAAP Taxonomy 2009 to the Taxonomy Catalog. In order to facilitate companies in the US to prepare and visualize XBRL reports.

Two bugs fixed

We have fixed two bugs in XBRLizer, one was after installing the tool the month that indicates the start of the fiscal year was incorrectly set to -1. After that, the creation contexts covered the period from December to November of the following year. The second bug was related to the creation of new numeric items.

The API has new functionality

Now the objects in the API does not maintain a local cache of the object properties if the properties can be stored in element attributes. This mechanism facilitates keeping consistency while allowing changing the object attributes at any time.

June 2009

Update release 2.6.4.

New update to version 2.6.4 released Keeping our leadership in the development of XBRL software.

XBRLizer

Added immediate XBRL validation. We have added a new feature that allows the user to configure XBRL validation mode in Automatic or Manual modes. Under Automatic mode the content of the XBRL report is validated each time new values are entered. Under Manual mode the user has control over the validation process using an option in the menu. This new feature facilitates fixing inconsistencies generated by other XBRL authoring tools that does not consider the rules in the calculation link base.

Now the user can configure the month in which the business year begins. The tool will automatically handle the correspondence between the column regarding natural years, semesters or quarters. This is very helpful for companies whose financial years does not match the natural year.

The creation of columns in the XBRL report has been simplified. New columns can be created separately for years, semesters, quarters or individual months.

In relation to the previous new feature, the use can now select the columns type he wants to see. They are one of the following: years, semesters, quarters or months.

XBRLview

New algorithm. We have updated the algorithm responsible of classifying the content for each report column. The new algorithm allow filtering the data in a more efficient manner in relation with the content of the contextual information and depending on dimensions and the existence of tuple parent containers.

In the new release the user can choose the column period type. Available options are Years, Semesters, Quarters and Months.

XBRLvalid

We have added an option to allow the processor raising a Warning message if duplicate facts are found in the instance and the duplicates are avoiding the execution of calculation rules.

Installer

New taxonomies available in the XBRL Catalog. The content of the taxonomy catalog has been updated. The old PGC 2007 has been replaced by a new release of the same taxonomy (1.3). According to the taxonomy owner they have changed the taxonomy in order to fix mistakes introduced in previous releases. Reporting Standard has not participated in that project and has absolute no responsibility about the mistakes that exists in previous or current versions of the PGC 2007 taxonomy. We have already found that the PGC 2007 Taxonomy is still inconsistent in several areas: The taxonomy authors has not changed the namespaces defined in the last 3 official releases of the taxonomy. According to this page from the W3C there may be serious URI Collision problems in the future. The use of the Spanish GCD taxonomy is not consistent in regard to the official URI. According to the Spanish jurisdiction web site, the official URI should be http://xbrl.org.es/gp/2008-01-30/dgi/ but the Spanish PGC 2007 is using http://www.xbrl.es/gp/2008-01-30/dgi/ due to this inconsistency we have decided to add twice the GCD taxonomy to the taxonomy Catalog. It must exists on both locations in order to allow users using the tool without Internet connection.

April 2009

Upgrade to version 2.6.3.

New release of the XBRL Tools (2.6.3) New features and more power to the XBRL users.

Installer:

New release of the windows installer. The old installer (Agentix Installer) has been replaced by a new release that has been created using official Microsoft tools. The new installer is lighter in disk space and allows a better integration with Windows Vista.

More flexibility during the installation phase In this release only the five most important tools from Reporting Standard has been included The XBRL Report Viewer, The XBRL Report Editor, The XBRL Personal Validation, The XBRL Taxonomy generation tool and the XBRL Taxonomy Catalog Manager). The rest of the tools (XBRL Mapper/Generator, The XBRL Database, the Versioning Report Editor and the High Performance XBRL Validation Service) are now separate tools not installed by default. Please contact Reporting Standard if you want to test that tools.

XBRL Report Viewer

Export to Excel Now in this release you can export XBRL Files to Excel directly from the XBRL Viewer.

Print XBRL Reports to printer Now you can print out the representation of an XBRL report as it is represented in the tool.

Bugs fixed The following bugs has been fixed: The representation of reports with reporting periods corresponding to semesters had a problem that may cause the tool not to represent the report data. The information inside tuples was not located according to the column the information belongs to. Now the information inside tuples is located in the right column.

XBRLIzer. Taxonomy viewer and XBRL report Editor

New panel to see the concept references The new panel allows you to access to all references for the concepts defined in the taxonomy. If the reference includes a URI with a link to a web page the tool allows you to click on the link to access to the web page content using a browser.

New user experience Entering data in order to create a new XBRL Report is now better and simpler than before. Now, when you click in a cell (after creating the reporting columns) the new created element does not has the value of 0. It remains in the blank state until it is edited (a number is typed).

NIL values Now it is possible creating nil values in the XBRL reports. Just type "nil" in the cell data as the concept value.

XBRL Report Validation

Multi language errors The new release of the validation engine allows multi language capabilities for all XBRL 2.1 validation errors. The tool comes with English (Default in all other countries) and Spanish (Default in Spanish spoken countries). Other languages as Italian, French and German are to come. Help will be appreciated.

XBRL API

Available in .NET The XBRL API is available as a DLL file under the .NET technology Contact Reporting Standard if you are interested in using it.

Catalog Manager

Several Catalog files The XBRL Catalog can be distributed in several files. All files compose the catalog of available taxonomies. Each one of the catalog files can be edited individually. The XBRL API (used by all tools) search for files named "XBRLCatalog.xml" in a directory named "ReportingStandardXBRLTools" in the user's home directory, in the directly where the application has been started and in the directory indicated in the environment variable XBRLCATALOGPATH. The installation process adjust the value of that environment variable to the apropriate locatio in the hard drive under Windows Vista.

More taxonomies available in the Catalog The installer comes with new taxonomies that can be directly installed in the Catalog. The new taxonomies includes the IFRS 2009 the Spanish COREP taxonomies and the German GAAP and GCD taxonomies.
