Currenlty this is a document under development by the XBRL Versioning Working Group. The Versioning Specification would allow documenting the changes between two taxonomy versions and communicate the changes in a standardized way. The benefits of preparing standardized versioning reports are that the software can automatically use the versioning reports in order to update the mapping between the internal systems and the XBRL Taxonomy or help migrating an XBRL taxonomy form a version to the next taxonomy version.

Currently this is a document submitted to the Formula Working Group. Reporting Estándar has implemented a formula processor based on XQuery as an add-on module that can be plugged-into the XBRL API. This module allows the creation of validation rules using the XQuery language developed by the W3C consortium.

During the years 2005 and 2006 Ignacio Hernandez-Ros (then director of the XBRL business area in Software AG worldwide) was hired by the XBRL International Consortium for further development of the XBRL standard and 2.1 and complete those areas in which the XBRL standard functionality was not enough for new users to get started.

Among the new types of users outlined the financial markets regulator CNMV as CESR (Committee of European Securities Regulators) and the Bank of Spain with the CEBS (Committee of European Banking Supervisors).

Currently this is a document contributed to the development of the Versioning Working Group. This document is the base under the XBRL standard has been constructed. The document represents the content of a DTS (Discoverable Taxonomy Set) from a business point of view without any relationship with the underlying syntax used to represent the DTS. This document is the base to start a project of integration between XBRL and other internal information repositories. The XBRL API developed by Reporting Estándar S.L. allows you to access to all this properties. The developers does not need to worry about where the information comes from in the XML files.
