About the question

During the installation process, the License Manager may have moved the license file from the temporary directory of your choice to "somewhere" in your hard drive. This article will tell you exactly where the license file has been installed.

Answer

Every version of Windows is different. But all of them defines an environment variable called APPDATA. This is where applications create a directory and place all customer preferences, including the license file called XBRLlicense.lic

In order to access to that directory, the simplest way is to:

  1. open the Windows Explorer
  2. click on the directoy bar (on top of the window) and type the following
  3. %APPDATA%\ReportingStandardXBRLTools
  4. press Enter

You will see the content of a directory in a location similar to this: \Users\{your user name}\AppData\Roaming\ReportingStandardXBRLTools

Now search for a file called XBRLlicense.lic a copy it to another directory on your hard drive.
